Responsibilities:
|
Responsible for meeting and exceeding daily customer
service expectations in a safe, efficient manner.
|

Customer Service Manager. |
|
Relevant Tasks:
|
- Work as part of a two-person team to satisfy
customer requirements safely and efficiently by handling freight cars.
- Support customer service function through use of
on-board automated event reporting system.
- Inspect locomotive(s) daily for safety compliance
and operational suitability, and operate locomotive(s) in safe and efficient manner (if certified as engineer).
- Communicate effectively with customers and Marquette Rail customer service staff.
- Present a positive image to customers as part of
the Marquette Rail team.
- Proactively address and solve daily customer
service challenges and issues.
- Other
tasks as periodically assigned by the
general manager.

- Seeks new ways of enhancing service efficiencies.

| Professional Requirements: |
- Experience in or demonstrated knowledge of the
railroad industry preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operating and safety
rules and proper air brake operation.
- Demonstrated ability to operate locomotive
efficiently and safely (if certified as engineer).
- Engineer candidates must be FRA Certified with
clean operating and safety record, with no substance abuse infractions.
- Must pass drug screening test.
- Experience in use of automated work order and event reporting software and hardware preferred.
- Successful candidate is a self-starter, able to
work within established deadlines to address all customer service requests promptly
and appropriately.
- Customer-focused attitude, willing to place customer and organizational needs over personal self-interest.
- Ability to work
effectively as a part of a company-wide team.
